Contingency Planning
Valley Technology has years of experience developing and supporting mission-critical systems. When we say mission critical, we mean systems that truly affect both the system users and the bottom-line of a company.
We can advise on contingency measures to put in place for fresh installations, and review current systems to help identify vulnerabilities.
Contingency measures we commonly put in place include:
- RAID servers with Uninterruptible Power Supplies and data backup routines , helping to protect systems in the event of disk and/or power failure.
- Remote system monitoring - we often know of problems before the users report them, helping minimise downtime.
- Onsite data replication - data is synchronised between primary and backup servers over very short time scales. In the event of primary server failure, we are able to quickly resume services on the backup server, whilst maintenance work is carried out on the primary.
- Remote data replication - data can be copied offsite to our servers, helping protect your data should the worst happen.
- "Fire-drills" - backup equipment is periodically tested to ensure it is in working order. Don't wait for a disaster to find out your backup equipment doesn't work.
